Volcanoes
Working in groups we constructed volcanoes using layers of papier mache around a central bottle. We added layer upon layer to create the cone shape. We textured the volcanoes with toilet paper and then painted them once dry with appropriately mixed colours to match the appearance of the volcanoes we had studied. Finally, we added a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar which reacted together to produce a foam which imitated lava flowing from an active volcano.
