Dear parents,
We aim to keep the school open as far as possible - but heavy or sudden snowfall, and subsequent ice, can cause safety issues, and the safety of your children and our staff are our main priorities.
Whilst we appreciate that most children can walk to school, many of our staff live too far away. If a substantial number of staff are unable to travel to school, we may be unable to open the school.
If we are forced to close for safety reasons:
- BBC Wiltshire radio and Heart will make an announcement
- Our school website will be updated
- We will send an email out - however, when the demand for this service is high across the county, there can be a substantial delay to this process.
Hopefully this won’t be necessary and any snowfall will be either light or limited to the school holidays! We have been able to stagger our opening times on a couple of occasions, which worked quite successfully and enabled children to arrive safely.
Thank you for your kind attention.
